Idea The RWB is more than a winery marketing association; it is also a think tank for leading vintners to promote innovation and share knowledge and experience. The RWB association’s structure is based on a democratic philosophy. Membership in the RWB is exclusively for wineries that have demonstrated consistently high quality over a long period of time. Mission The focus of interest is to promote the quality of wine and wine culture in Burgenland, to cultivate the significance of wine culture in society and to increase the international recognition of wine from Burgenland. The declared goal of the “Renommierten Weingüter Burgenland” (Renowned Wineries of Burgenland) is to increase the appreciation and recognition of Burgenland as an origin of high quality wines and a significant economic contributor on both a national and international level. The label “Wine from Burgenland” should become a synonym for quality and authenticity. Sustainable measures are taken to ensure an optimum increase in market value for wine from Burgenland and further be a catalyst for increased tourism in the region. Continued Achievement Since its establishment in 1995 and the inaugural celebration the elegant ambience of the Esterhazy Palace, the RWB has diligently committed itself to increasing the recognition of wines from Burgenland in Austria and internationally. Their efforts have been rewarded with much success. The RWB has been responsible for many events dedicated to wine from Burgenland. Presentations, tastings, and participation in competitions have brought the RWB members numerous accolades and wine fans have become increasingly aware of the extraordinary quality of wines from Burgenland. |
