“We have 20 wines in our assortment,“ states Axel Stiegelmar quite proudly. The vintner from Gols, Burgenland can play the entire repertoire of the region’s prime grape varieties. Despite this, the key focus and passion are dedicated to the Burgundian varieties. The JURIS estate has a long tradition for these varieties and is among the very best producers in Austria. One third of his 25 vineyard hectares are planted with St. Laurent and Pinot noir. This allows quite a large play field for the vintner which has allowed him exciting comparative experiments with different single vineyards. Highly recommended for those not in the Burgundian camp is Stieglmar’s flagship “Ina’mera” – A Bordeaux blend with Blaufränkisch spice. The Tricata is a specialty that is eccentric for the region and is an elegant wine made partially from dried Blaufränkisch grapes that enthuses not only those that appreciate Amarone. The assortment can be on the JURIS online-shop which was launched in April.
