Sweet Wines

The area around Lake Neusiedl is one of the world’s few wine growing regions where noble sweet wines can consistently be made nearly every year. The JURIS winery produces sweet wines only in appropriate vintages. We limit our sweet wine production to a few selected varieties and strive for the top predicated quality categories.
A specialty of the house is Strohwein, a sweet wine made from grapes that have been dried for a minimum of three months on reeds from the grass belt surrounding Lake Neusiedl. Georg Stiegelmar revived this typical regional sweet wine specialty in 1982 after decades of being nearly forgotten.
